For Easter (and nearly every Easter of Sue's life in this BryonySeries novel) Sue Bass helped Ma (until Ma died, then Sue toiled on her own with the kitchen crew) bake ham; boil noodles, carrots, asparagus; and stew dried berries until they plumped, which they topped with sweetened cream.
